About Us

My name is Jonathan Hird, though most call me Jonny. Starting off with a degree in Marine Biology, I turned to a camera to photograph the world rather than study it. 

My main interest is the strong emotional connections we have to images. Seeing a photograph can bring you not only to a time and place, but can give a feeling of nostalgia as well. I like to view photography through a vintage lens, more often literally as well as in style. This is the overarching link to all of the various types of images I create; be it portraits, street photography, surf photography, or fine art projects. 

First getting into photography with little experience (and little money) I started shooting mainly film on vintage cameras. Doing so has influenced my style on every project, and has allowed me to experiment more within the medium. I’m available for events, product and food, portraiture, or drone photography/videography. I also have a studio in my home for miniature photography commissions.
